Thai Boxing Instructors
Frank Cucci
Frank Cucci is the Founder and Head Instructor of the LINXX Academy of Martial Arts. He is a veteran of the elite U.S. Navy SEAL Team and has over 25 years of martial arts experience. He is considered by many to be one of the most experienced, highly skilled, and well-rounded martial artists in the country. Mr. Cucci holds a Black Belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu under Pedro Sauer. His competition record includes a gold medal at the 1999 Jiu-Jitsu World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is certified as a senior instructor in Thai Boxing under Ajarn Chai Sirisute, president of the Thai Boxing Association of the United States. Mr. Cucci also holds full instructor certifications in both Kali (stick and knife fighting) and Jeet Kune Do (art of fighting created by Bruce Lee) under the legendary Dan Inosanto.
Dan Brooks
Dan Brooks has been training at LINXX since 1995 and teaching at LINXX since the age of 15. He holds a 4th Degree Black Belt in Muay Thai under the LINXX Academy and is a certified instructor under the Thai Boxing Association of the United States. Dan is currently the lead adult Thai Boxing and youth Total Defense instructor at the Kempsville location. He also studies Jiu-Jitsu, Kali, and Jeet Kune Do.
Evan Taylor
Evan Taylor began his training with LINXX in 1995. He holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Muay Thai under the LINXX Academy and is a certified instructor under the Thai Boxing Association of the United States. Evan has competed in various Muay Thai events including the 2007 WKA Amateur Muay Thai Championships and the 2005 IFK Central East Regional Championships. In addition to teaching Muay Thai, Evan is the head instructor for the LINXX Capoeira program and holds the rank of Red/Blue Cord. Evan also studies Jiu-Jitsu and Kali.
Nestor Bayot
Nestor Bayot began his training at LINXX in 1996 and today is widely recognized for his technical expertise and effectiveness as an instructor. He holds a Black Belt in Muay Thai under the LINXX Academy and is a certified instructor under the Thai Boxing Association of the United States. Nestor also holds a 1st Degree Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu and his understanding of the art is second only to his experience as a competitor. His competition experience includes the Jiu-Jitsu World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championships. Nestor was also a representative for Team USA vs. Brazil in 2004 and 2005.
Frank Cucci Jr.
Frank Cucci, Jr. has been training and competing with LINXX since 1994. He holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Muay Thai under the LINXX Academy and is a certified instructor under the Thai Boxing Association of the United States. Frank also holds a Purple Belt in Jiu-Jitsu and has competed in various Jiu-Jitsu events, including winning a gold medal at the 2009 North Atlantic Grappling Association Tournament. In addition to teaching Muay Thai, Frank instructs LINXX members in personal Gymjones fitness training and is actively involved in ultra-distance adventure racing.
Steve Raynor
Steve Raynor has trained with LINXX since 1995. He holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Muay Thai under the LINXX Academy and is a certified instructor under the Thai Boxing Association of the United States. Steve has competed in various events and is a five-time Virginia Free Fighting champion, a two-time King of the Ring champion, and a two-time Rage in the Cage champion. Steve boxes professionally and currently holds a record of 2-1. He also studies Jiu-Jitsu.
Scott Turner
Scott Turner began training with LINXX in 1994. He currently holds a 1st Degree Black Belt in Muay Thai under the LINXX Academy and is a certified instructor under the Thai Boxing Association of the United States. Scott also holds a Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu and he studies Kali and Jeet Kune Do. Scott has competed at various events and is a four-time winner of the Virginia Free Fighting Championships and a silver medalist in the 2002 Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championships.
Mackens Semerzier
Mackens Semerzier has been training at LINXX since 2005. He is also a U.S. Marine Corps martial arts program instructor. Mackens holds a Black Belt in Muay Thai under the LINXX Academy. He holds a Brown Belt in Jiu-Jitsu and trains in boxing as well. Mackens is a professional mixed martial arts fighter and has recently been signed with the WEC. He won the WEC Submission of the Year Award in 2009.
Abdallah Daher
Abdallah Daher has been training and competing with LINXX since 2007. He holds a Brown-Black Belt in Muay Thai under the LINXX Academy and is a certified kickboxing instructor under IFTA (Interactive Fitness Trainers of America). In addition to teaching Muay Thai at LINXX, Abdallah teaches kickboxing at the YMCA and is a certified trainer there. Abdallah also studies Jiu-Jitsu at LINXX.
Kristopher Gonzales
Khristopher Gonzalez has been training and competing with LINXX since 2005. He currently holds a black belt in Muay Thai under LINXX Academy. Khristopher Gonzalez has competed in many events and held the 2007 Total Cage Combat 155 pound title, The 2007 Global combat alliance 155 pound title, the 2007 WKA 155 pound title, and earned a spot on the WKA 2010 world team for USA. He also holds a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and is now 9-0 as an amateur fighter.
Kenny O'Connor
Kenny has been training at LINXX Academy since 2004. Before coming to LINXX, Kenny focused on his wrestling career. Since joining our Thai Boxing program, he has discovered his passion for Martial Arts. Kenny is a black belt in Muay Thai as well as an apprentice instructor under the Thai Boxing Association (TBA). He plans to go on to pursue his full instructorship. Kenny has also competed and won an amateur fight.
Chris Cappa
Chris Cappa is the Business Development Manager of LINXX Academy. He began his training at LINXX Academy last year and has excelled quickly, putting his Thai Boxing skills to the test by competing in numerous local Muay Thai tournaments. Chris graduated high school with All American honors and went on to play outside linebacker at Christopher Newport University. He also brings his energetic personality to the mat as one of our Thai Boxing instructors.
